The Programme topics will include:
Manicure & Pedicure
manicure and pedicure, consultation techniques, product selection and application, including gel nail techniques, homecare and follow on advice.
Waxology
waxing, hot wax, warm wax, roller wax, intimate hair removal, consultation techniques, hair and skin analysis, treatment planning, product selection and application, homecare and follow on advice
Lash & Brow Technician
Brow mapping, brow tinting, brow shaping ( waxing and tweezing), lash tinting, lash lifts, brow lamination, lash extensions
Facials
Facials including skin analysis, masks, massage, product knowledge, consultation techniques, treatment planning, product selection and application, homecare and follow on advice
Make up
Day and evening techniques plus occasion / party make up
Body massage - full relaxation massage, consultation techniques, treatment planning, product selection and application, homecare and follow on advice
Spray tanning services - commercial spray tanning techniques using a gun and a tent, consultation techniques, product selection and application, homecare and follow on advice
Science - biology, nutrition, physics and chemistry as is appropriate to the services offered and products used. All main body systems will be understood and their relevance to the services explained. Main ingredients in the products will be identified and their uses explained. Electrical currents and their uses within treatments will be identified and explained and the safe use of electrical equipment will be demonstrated.
Healthy eating and wellbeing - Eating well and general nutritional detail will be understood and students will be able to advise clients of a healthy eating pattern and balanced diet. Students will be able to analyse a client's current diet and make recommendations as appropriate.
Skin diseases and disorders - will be covered as in consultations and students will be able to recognise and describe causes and treatments of contraindications and explain who they affect the treatment.
Clinical coordinator - students will undertake clinical coordinator and reception duties, booking in clients, reminding clients, preparing consultations and all paperwork for the client, filing the records, updating records, telephone techniques, computer skills within the online booking system, pricing, payment techniques, sales and retailing, meet and greet, directing clients, escalating complaints or feedback when necessary and appropriate, managing bookings and therapists, cash management, applying KPI's, promotions, merchandising, events planning and stock control.
Clinical experience - polish your skills on clients and in a real life clinic. This is a crucial part of building your skills and confidence to ensure you are work ready!

Entry requirements :
Entry is open to all students including International Students who meet the entry requirments detailed on the "International Students" page on our website.
For NZ and Australian citizens entry age is 16 years old ( or 15 with an ELX exemption from MOE)
For International Students entry age is 18 years old.
Any applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 5.5 (with no score below 5 in speaking, reading, writing and listening) or equivalent.
Applicants must have access to a device for elearning each week - laptop / tablet.

Fees Free
Starting tertiary study or work-based learning for the first time? You may be able to get Fees Free after you complete your first eligible qualification or programme. Fees Free covers the cost of your fees for the final year of study or final two years of work-based learning, up to $12,000.
