Aim
The aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the skills and knowledge to carry out manicure and pedicure services, consultation and treatment planning, nail augmentation services including acrylic extensions, gel nails, nail art and any other trend that becomes available, as well as have a knowledge of small business costs and compliances, health and safety and reception skills.
Students will undertake theory and practical training on courses:
1. NT1 - Natural Nail Services - 27 credits The aim is to provide students with knowledge of natural nail services, products, tools and related skills to provide a client service.
2. NT2 - Nail Augmentation - 53 credits The aim is to provide students with knowledge of nail augmentation services, products, tools and related skills to provide a client service. The second half of the programme is mainly portfolio work which means you can earn while you learn and develop your portfolio in hours that suit you!. Attendance is only 2 days a month for 5 months to check portfolio and finish any assessments / course work.
3. NT3 - Nail Art Services - 15 credits The aim is to provide students with knowledge of nail art services, products, tools and related skills to provide a client service.
4. NT4 - Small Business Operation - 25 credits The aim is to provide students with the knowlege and skills to provide reception services including appointment booking, payment processing, recordkeeping and operation a small nail technology business in a highly professional manner.
Programme Details
Graduates will be able:
To perform and advise on natural nail services, recognise nail diseases and disorders and be able to understand the relevant anatomy and physiology of the areas they are working on.
To consult and advise on nail augmentation types and perform a range of nail augmentation services such as gel nails, wraps and acrylics.
To perform nail art services on natural nails and augmented nails and create themes based on the needs of the client.
To undertake a full and in-depth consultation process in order to fully educate the client on nail care, services available and retail products
To understand the workings of a small business and be able to make informed set up decisions based on their own aspirations
o carry out reception duties within a clinic environment and communicate with a range of clients and needs
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This is an open entry programme. Applicants will undergo a course briefing. Beauty therapists or applicants with prior experience or training in natural nail services can be accredited with recognition of prior learning for these aspects upon a successful practical and theoretical assessment where the training was not completed at Evolution School. Where an applicant completed a programme with Evolution they will be given automatic RPL for those units of natural nail services.
